Trade Finance Manager

Group Treasury is responsible for cash management, trade finance, group funding and foreign exchange risk management. The trade finance function is responsible for issuing, amending, monitoring, and closing bank and parent company guarantees (financial guarantees) and letters of credit (No: “Remburser”). The function works closely with the various Business Areas on negotiating the terms/format of these instruments. In addition, the function is responsible for export financing schemes. The position reports to the Group VP Finance and Treasurer in Kongsberg Gruppen ASA.

 

As a Trade Finance Manager your main responsibilities are to:

  • Advise subsidiaries on contract and guarantee wording.
  • Issue, monitor, amend and close financial guarantees.
  • Monitor portfolio of open financial guarantees and take actions as required.
  • Advise on payment assurance tools (letters of credit, credit insurance).
  • Provide internal training for project managers, marketing, sales, and contract managers.
  • Work closely with relevant banks and financial institutions related to Know Your Customer (KYC), Anti Money Laundering (AML) and the issuance of guarantees.
  • Assist in the operation of the group's trade finance system and digital guarantee system.
  • Report on Key Performance Indicators related to financial guarantees.
  • Perform periodic and ad-hoc analysis.

 

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree within finance, economy, or other related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience within Trade Finance (guarantees / letters of credit).
  • Experience from working with contracts and/or payment assurance tools.
  • Independent, and self-driven, with a strong commercial mindset and an analytical approach.
  • Team player with strong communication skills, being able to build networks internally and externally.
  • Skilled user of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Power Point and PowerBI.

You will become part of a medium size treasure team, enabling the right individual to work across many of the fields of expertise that form a Treasury team, and thus gain a broad set of knowledge within the various fields. You will also work closely with external stakeholders such as banks, and internal stakeholders including both project controllers and executive management.
