Job description

Statkraft is the largest producer of renewable energy in Europe and is planning to develop an additional 4 GW onshore wind capacity and about 2 GW solar power within 2025 globally. The majority of this growth is planned in Europe where we have recently started our project development activities in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands.

Your role

You will be an integral part of delivering the energy transition!

Our job is to take wind and solar projects from the initial idea towards commissioning. On the way we have to get access to land, apply for permits and arrange grid access. Together with colleagues in other departments we carefully monitor project profitability, work on the technical designs, procure equipment and take the assets through construction. For each project this takes many years and we are working hard to not only overcome technical, administrative, legal and commercial hurdles but also to make our projects well received by local communities and examples for best practice.

During the program you will work on various of the above project stages and roles. The composition of the year long program will be tailored to your background. It will give you broad experience and professional challenges. At the end of the program you will get a permanent position in one of the countries within Wind & Solar Continental Europe whose language you speak. This could be either Paris, Madrid, Düsseldorf, Amsterdam or Milan.

Your profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant subject (e.g. economics, business administration, science, engineering, urban planning, legal or similar)
• You are a team player and a people person
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• You are well structured and master a wide scope by cooperating with others
• You are commercially-minded
• Fluency in English and one or ideally two more languages out of French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch or German

About the International Trainee Programme

The objective of the programme is to develop young talents in the best way possible, and provide insight into our entire operations and value chain. It is a one-year programme with three different work rotations of four months, of which at least one will be abroad. The programme is tailored to the trainee’s background and the unit’s competence needs. As a trainee you will attend regular courses and social gatherings where the trainee group meets to acquire new skills and share experiences. Upon completion of the programme you are offered a permanent position in the department where you will continue to work in a new position.
