Your mission 

As a Test Engineer in DNB Corporate Banking you will work in teams of 8 to 12 people. You will be a part of a fixed team, and responsible for the quality of specific digital channels (web, mobile). Your work will relate to bringing high quality focus into the maintenance of existing solutions, but more important: assuring the quality when building world class user experience in our new digital channels for corporate users. You will be able to work with different technologies and to build complex IT applications that are used on a daily basis by DNB’s 200.000 corporate customers.

You will design and execute test plans, procedures, scenarios, and scripts to accurately assess new products or software updates. Identify, analyze and create detailed records of problems that appear during testing, such as software defects, bugs, functionality issues, and output errors, and work directly with software developers to find solutions. In other words: you will be the person in charge of the quality!

Your experience and knowledgeTechnical skills

You must have knowledge of scripting languages like JavaScript, Phyton, VBScript etc. You should know how to extract and manipulate data from databases using f.ex. SQL. It’s an advantage if you are familiar with Unix commands. 

Experience and education

You have hands-on experience of test management tools like f.ex. HP ALM, Octance, Zephyr, or ServiceNow. We use Jira to track issues or bugs/defects. When it comes to automation you should have knowledge of the following tools: Selenium or Cucumber. You should be familiar with SDLC and test methodologies (Types of testing, test planning, test strategies, creating test cases, automation scripts). Finally, if you on top of this have knowledge from various operating systems, virtualization technologies and test environments we will put on our widest smile.

We think that you have completed relevant higher education, but we also acknowledge that relevant experience may make up for this.

Personal skills

We have a wish list for six personal skills that we would highly appreciate if you’re in possession of: 1) great understanding of the software development life cycle, 2) analytical skills, 3) good communication skills, 4) time management, 5) GREAT attitude and 6) passion for testing. DNB is a large enterprise and the need for you to navigate between technical issues and business approaches is highly appreciable.

Who are you?

We want you to be a dedicated tester, who really cares about doing a great job. You are a big fan of automation and use it whenever you can to get more things done. But almost equally important is your ability to be a good team player. You don’t have to be extrovert and super social all the time, but we do expect you to collaborate with your team members and take part in our technical discussions. You must be patient (yes, DNB is a huge organization, and some things takes a bit more time than we prefer…). At the same time the workload is high, and we always have a loaded backlog. Priority is an important skill, and being able to focus on what you or the team have decided to do.
