Vacant research position (engagement) at the Institute for Experimental Medical Research, Oslo University Hospital
Oslo University Hospital is the largest hospital and medical research institution in Norway. Oslo University Hospital is a highly specialized hospital, with extensive regional and local responsibilities. As Scandinavia’s largest hospital, we carry out more than 1.2 million patient treatments each year and contribute approximately 50 percent of medical and health care research conducted at Norwegian hospitals. We are also a significant contributor to the education of a large range of health care personnel.
Institute for Experimental Medical Research (IEMR)
The Institute for Experimental Medical Research (IEMR) is an innovative and dynamic medical research environment with the aim to understand cardiac biology and disease mechanisms through translational research, and develop new preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic strategies for patients with heart disease. Our vision is “Understanding the heart for the benefit of patients”. With approximately 60 employees and six research groups, our expertise spans molecular biology, physiology and cardiology. Kvalifikasjoner:
Competence requirements
- We are looking for a talented and highly motivated candidate who have experience in molecular cardiology and sex-specific signaling pathways
- The candidate must have competency in mouse breeding, isolation of primary cardiomyocytes, microscopy, fractionation of heart tissue, mapping of antibodies, analyses of peptide arrays, Biacore and ELISA analyses, and transfections of H9c2 cells.
- The candidate must be dedicated, responsible, enthusiastic, reliable, structured and have the ability to work independently and in an interdisciplinary environment
- The working language is English, and excellent knowledge of spoken and written English is required
Desired competence requirements
- The candidate is expected to hold, or soon to complete a PhD degree in molecular cardiology
