Our Laboratory department in Kristiansand is on the lookout for a new team member to join our team as we innovate towards continuously improving existing and develop new measurement systems.

We are seeking a candidate with strong understanding of inorganic analytical chemistry, scientific communication and capable of systematic planning and hands-on execution on projects and method development.

The Laboratory is a culturally diverse team of highly qualified professionals that carry out innovation projects and analytical method development.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Ensure quality of chemical techniques and instruments. globally in Elkem
• Contribute to operational excellence within Elkem’s divisions and plants
• Stay updated on analytical techniques and new possibilities in measurement technologies
• Lead and implement R&D projects related to processes, products, and measurements

Required Qualifications:

• PhD or Master’s degree in relevant fields, preferably in Inorganic Chemistry and/or Material Technology
• Competence in statistics, quality assurance, and analytical techniques such as XRF, XRD, ICP, and combustion
• Preferably industry experience and projects management practice
• Strong communication skills in Norwegian and English
• Travel is a prerequisite
• Practical laboratory work is expected

The position reports to the Department Manager at Elkem Technology Lab, located in Kristiansand, Norway.
