Dreaming of engineering and upgrading ship automation systems?
We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Service Delivery team in Global Customer Support at Kongsberg Maritime. As a Project Engineer you will deliver retrofits, energy efficiency upgrades and modifications to KONGSBERG automation systems, like Acon and the new K-Chief, to all types of vessels worldwide. Our department is responsible for engineering in close cooperation with project managers and sales.
Automation & Sensing Solution is a part of Global Customer Support. The department also consist of the product departments for Bridge & Control and Digital & Training. The main product in this department is providing vessels with state-of-the-art automation and digital systems built on the new, modern K-Chief platform. We provide service and support for systems like Acon, tank sounding and LNG systems, and is a forerunner in providing ships with tools for optimizing their operations with regards to cost, efficiency and emissions.

Responsibilities
- Perform Hardware and software engineering.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and drawings.
- Identify, select, and order hardware to project deliveries.
- Follow-up project plans and deliveries.
- Support classification, test department and service-engineers during commissioning.
- Assist project managers on a day-to-day basis for technical questions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education in Automation or Electro, bachelor’s degree or technical college. Technical work experience may compensate for formal education.
- Experience from hardware engineering is an advantage.
- Knowledge of CAD, Teamcenter PLM, Scada/Automation systems, network, marine communication protocols, power systems and other ship systems is an advantage but not a requirement.
- Fluency in English, both verbal and in writing, is required for operation as a global team.
