International Trainee Programme: IT Trainee Positions

Statkraft’s International Trainee Programme is a great introduction into working life. You will spend 16 months learning and developing yourself alongside other graduates, and kick start your career in renewables. The programme consists of three job rotations across the company, of which at least one will be abroad. As a trainee, you will participate in various professional development courses and gatherings to acquire new skills and share experiences. You will also become a part of our brand-new CEO-led Future Board – an advisory board made up of trainees and young professionals at Statkraft who will advise and challenge our CEO on key issues and topics. For the first time ever, young professionals get a seat at the table, and will help shape our future here at Statkraft.
We have two trainee positions available across this area. Please specify on your application if you have a preference for a particular focus area.
Trainee IT Security, in Security Architecture Team
Location: Oslo
As an IT Security Trainee , you’ll:
Learn and help communicate IT Security policies and requirements, standards and best practices, delivering value and defense mechanisms to the IT Solutions and Projects
Help the IT teams implement security controls and configurations In order to make the IT Architecture robust and defendable
Learn about and support penetration testing and ethical hacking, risk assessments and architectural reviews, gaining key skills and insight in working in an IT Security Department to further your career in IT Security.
Trainee Software Development
Location: Oslo
As a trainee in Software Development, you`ll:
Deliver customized solutions to the Energy Management process and Trading processes to optimize our renewable power portfolio
Collaborate with analysis teams to build useful tools and automate time consuming manual processes
Work on data harvesting and integration solutions, creating new data insights and efficient business processes
Coordinate implementations with international customers and our internal engineering department
Prepare release notes and operational handover documents
Participate in system development projects on a cross-company basis
About You:
We are looking for IT trainees who is motivated to learn and develop essential skills that will contribute to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions. This includes:
Master’s degree in science and technical fields, for Security trainee role preferably within IT security and Cyber security
For Software Development role:
Some knowledge of Net C# programming, Python and/or Microsoft Azure
For IT Security role:
Knowledge of IT Architecture, IT Networks, OSI stack, Client/Server Architecture, Cloud solutions
Some knowledge of security policies and best practises – CIS Controls, ISO and NIST standards
You are team player who can communicate with different stakeholders
You have a proactive and independent way of working, and enjoy collaboration with different cultures/countries
Fluency in English and Norwegian
