FOOD & BEVERAGE SPECIALIST

In order to secure an efficient coordination between the Onboard Sales management and stakeholders on board within the Food & Beverage and furthermore to support Central Procurement on F&B tenders, we will need to retain a F&B specialist in the Onboard Sales team.

We are looking for our new Food & Beverage Specialist who will be responsible for our interaction with our 2 vessels, Pearl and Crown, operating on our Copenhagen – Frederikshavn – Oslo route. Together with our other specialists in the Onboard Sales team, located in Copenhagen and Oslo, our new F&B specialist will team up with our stakeholders onboard in securing the right menus, conditions, quality and development within our restaurants, cafees, bars and conference cruise offerings. We have high ambitions and do always seek the best quality at the right price. At the same time we also need to consider efficiency and consistency, so it will be vital that our new F&B specialist has great personal skills and know the importance of dialogue, mutual respect and understanding customer service and the importance of always following a commercial agenda.

Main responsibilities

  • Together with our Head Chefs ensure alignment and lead the research on trends & sustainability within food products on board Crown and Pearl.
  • Ensure that the Head Chefs on board the ships are supported with the best practice, quality and pricing for our products related to Crown and Pearl.
  • As a specialist within F&B, to work closely with our Onboard Concept & Operation Manager and Concept Coordinator. Furthermore to be available for our Group Procurement on F&B tenders.

Additional tasks

  • Continuously follow up on trends and sustainability within food products and to align and share knowledge with relevant stakeholders in the OnBoard Sales Team including Head of OnBoard Sales.
  • Manage communication between Group Procurement, suppliers & Ships and in general supporting the process on ensuring all administrative tasks that make systems and the business in general run smoothly onboard via close corporation which is managed by the central concept team.
  • Ensure price settings versus gross margin targets.
  • Continuously follow up on supplier performances, prices and invoicing.
  • Support Group Procurement with specifying concepts and product quality who will then negotiate the best price based on the quality specifications.
  • Creation of new suppliers and Items no.
  • Manage & align ship supplier & and product requests, feedback and handle supplier contact when issues arise or if products change, including updating master file.
  • Support F&B development projects from a commercial point of view and align with other stakeholders in the OnBoard Sales Team.
  • Together with Head Chefs monitor customer feedback and ensure action plans if so needed in order to increase customer satisfaction. 

The right profile will have an extensive and relevant background from the F&B business, preferable a hands-on background. This role will report to the Head of Onboard Sales and will be working closely with our other specialists that includes Retail, Onboard Concepts and Communication. We like to challenge each other and being challenged in order to optimize our solutions on board so an open minded personality will indeed be an asset. Besides having a focus on our two passenger vessels, this role will also support our Central Procurement team on various F&B matters. 

Preferred personal candidate profile

  • Professional experience or/and education within the Hospitality industry.
  • Ability to manage and navigate in an agile environment.
  • A desire to create results through collaboration and team work.
  • Fluent in at least one of the Scandinavian languages and English.
  • Knowledge of how to maximize profitability and meet targets.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Manage to remain calm under pressure and stressful situations.
  • Be a problem solver and have a sense of creativity.
  • A desire to constantly be curious on new trends & sustainability. 
  • In case on conflicts the ability to act in a professional and solving manner. 
  • Loyal to the core values of the Company.
  • Be a role model in all aspects and taking shared responsibility of a positive working environment.         

This position will be based in Copenhagen, but the successful candidate should expect extensive travelling and meetings on our two passenger ships in order to understand how things are operated in the front line.
