What you will be working on

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Application Engineer to join the Navigation & Positioning department at Kongsberg Discovery in Trondheim. We are looking for a driven, solution-oriented engineer who enjoys both technical challenges and project-based work.

As Application Engineer you join an experienced product team where you will have responsibilities contributing towards the further development and maintenance of our DP reference systems. This includes software development, engineering support, test, verification and validation. To succeed in this position, we believe you need to take initiative, be cooperative, responsible, structured, and quality minded. You might occasionally join our operators and customers in the field.

Qualifications and experienceq

• A bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Software development in C/C++.
• Experience with Linux operating systems is beneficial.
• Experience with computer networking is beneficial. Our solution often consists of several products which are interconnected.
• Experience from relevant industry is beneficial. Marine and maritime industries are of relevance, as well as other industries creating complex technical solutions consisting of mechanical, electronics/HW, and software development.
• Experience with GNSS, Radar or Laser based technology is advantageous.
• Fluent in both spoken and written English. Fluency in spoken and written Norwegian is beneficial.
