The business area European Wind and Solar (E) is responsible for development and ownership of wind and solar assets in Europe. The business area is also responsible for the project execution of large projects across Statkraft, the group procurement function and development of new business opportunities.

The Project Delivery Unit is now expanding in a number of European markets and need a Wind Turbine Specialist to strengthen the business area’s Wind Centre of Expertise. The team is supporting early phase project development and is responsible for technical management of wind power projects during construction. You will report to Head of Project development and technical management, Wind.

Your role:

As a Wind turbine specialist, your main responsibilities will be:

• Act as an expert in turbine technology and contribute to selection of best suitable turbine at a particular site
• Technical lead of Wind turbine package during a procurement process
• Prepare and quality assure turbine technical specifications in Invitation to tenders documents
• Responsible for Wind turbine package and follow up turbine contract during construction
• Participate in technical due diligences of potential acquisitions
• Provide technical support to early phase projects
• Assessment of wind turbine lifetime with regards to site specific conditions
• Participate in turbine technical supplier interactions to ensure best market knowledge
• Attend site visits, FATs and other factory tests as required
• Assist asset owner on technical issues and quality follow up

Your profile:

• Masters degree in Electro or Mechanical Engineering or similar relevant field
• Minimum 8-10 years experience from wind energy business
• Excellent knowledge of wind turbine suppliers and wind turbine models
• Experience in negotiating Turbine Supply Agreements
• Commercial acumen and understanding of cost of energy drivers
• Experience from site installation, testing and commissioning of wind projects an advantage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Portuguese or Spanish is an asset
• Flexible in terms of travel and mobility
