A 100 % position is available as a special engineer at the Research Section at the Department of Microbiology, Oslo University Hospital. The position is located in the SINTEF building, where the largest part of the section is now located and connected to the research group of section leader Hilde Loge Nilsen. The position is for the period 01.03.2025 - 31.08.2025, with the possibility for extension. 

About the department: 
The Department of Microbiology (MIK) at the Clinic for Laboratory Medicine (KLM), Oslo University Hospital (OUS), has hospital and university functions that are integrated into the business. Our main tasks include infection diagnostics, research and teaching.
The department is organized into 8 sections: Research; Medicine; Bacteriology; Molecular diagnostics, virology and serology; Development; Control and production; Sample reception and Quality, IT and operational support. The department is integrated with the Department of Clinical Medicine at the University of Oslo (UiO), with a joint line in UiO and OUS.

The research section currently consists of 10 research groups and 5 project groups. In total, approx. 90 people from 19 countries on full-time research. All the research groups have a solid national and international network of collaborating research groups. We have weekly seminars with local and international lecturers, as well as an annual conference for the research section

Kvalifikasjoner:

• MSC or equivalent in mathematics/bioinformatics
• Experience with RNA-based biological clocks
• Experience with use of prior-knowledge networks and the COSMOS pipeline
