Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Exceptional Service: Perform service, after-sales, and warranty work on Simrad branded Kongsberg Discovery products across global operational installations, with a focus on Asia.
  • Supervise and Lead Installations: Oversee installations, including startup, commissioning, and providing onboard training to captains and crew.
  • Expert Knowledge: Possess hands-on expertise in system functionality and hardware components, with a deep understanding of the applications we control onboard installations.
  • Ensure World-Class Service: Maintain Kongsberg Discovery’s reputation for delivering world-class service to our customers.
  • Engage in Continuous Learning: Continuously expand your technical knowledge of Kongsberg Discovery products, staying ahead in industry standards.

Your Role Involves

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures: Execute all activities in line with Kongsberg Customer Support Handbook and established routines.
  • Proactive Service and Support: Handle both scheduled and emergency service jobs, responding promptly to requests from the Service Coordinator.
  • Customer Communication: Provide technical assistance and support via phone, email, ensuring effective communication with the Service Coordinator and Technical Advisors.
  • Seamless Installations & Commissioning: Prepare, install, and commission after-sales deliveries, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Problem-Solving and Improvement: Identify and report issues or improvements, ensuring follow-up and resolution.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Ensure that all customer inquiries and requests are addressed promptly within the specified time frame.
  • Keep Tools & Documentation Updated: Maintain service tools, documentation, and system backups in accordance with company procedures.
  • Continuous Development: Stay up to date with the latest technical advancements and product offerings from Kongsberg Discovery, improving your skill set and expertise.
  • Team Collaboration: Support the Department Manager and collaborate with the team on customer support activities.
  • Emergency Support: Participate in phone support when needed, ensuring round-the-clock customer assistance.

Important Qualities

  • Open to extensive travel opportunities, primarily within Asia, with the flexibility to respond to travel needs at short notice.
  • Strong service orientation with a proactive, solution-driven approach to challenges.
  • Capable of working independently, taking initiative, and thriving with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to excel in fast-paced environments.
  • Eager to learn new skills, take on responsibilities, and continuously grow professionally.
  • Comfortable working at sea in challenging conditions, including rough weather, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

We think you should have

  • Relevant education could be in Mechatronics, Electronics, Engineering, Technical College, Service Electronics Technician, or Ship’s Electrician.
  • Product knowledge is an advantage but not required.
  • PC knowledge (Windows) is essential.
  • Well written and spoken in both English and mandarin
  • Past working experience in international setup will be added advantage.
