The Business Development Senior Manager will be responsible for the financial and operational viability of energy renewable projects, planning and developing all the phases until the construction, hydro, wind and solar projects through the required and appropriate technologies.
Responsible to ensure that all projects must conform to the corporate governance model, following the rules, local procedures and legislation related to operation, safety, security and environment.
The successful applicant will manage renewable development projects from early phase to the beginning of the construction. This will entail leading project teams, engaging them and encouraging collaboration. These teams are internal experts, internal areas leaders and external consultants who oversee site selection, securing land and grid access, consenting, engineering, procurement and securing a sufficiently attractive business case for investment decision. Job purpose

Statkraft has been mainly active in hydropower development in Chile during the recent year and as we see interesting opportunities for wind and solar projects in Chile, we are looking for an experienced Senior Business Development Manager strengthen our development / project organisation in Santiago.

Your Role

• Identify interesting early phase projects and develop business cases for investment decision
• Analyse and evaluate leads, define project priority and portfolio analysis
• Manage feasibility studies of greenfield projects by carrying out all necessary analyzes, with the objective of maximizing results, ensuring the sustainability of the new business.
• Lead the business development and engineering teams in Chile. Ensure synergy between both areas to identify and validate new business opportunities.
• Develop and execute reports and presentations with the objective of obtaining the necessary approvals in both Chile and Norway for the implementation and execution of approved projects.
• Manage the interface with the various areas of competence and stakeholders in both Chile and Norway to ensure the feasibility of the pre-development and advanced development of renewable energy projects.
• Ensure support and synergy with the New Business Development area to identify and validate new business opportunities
• Respond to the health, safety and environmental activities of the projects by ensuring compliance with the legislation, as well as ensuring that the environmental licenses of each project are obtained and regularized.
• Manage the processes related to land acquisitions, as well as the environmental licenses required to carry out projects.
• Coordinate Statkraft's engineering processes, implementing corporate engineering strategies in local projects, with the aim of ensuring compliance with technical and service standards, as well as corporate standards and current Chilean regulations.
• Supervise the management of the project administration softwares, including sending information to the corporate office, in order to ensure the projects execution in accordance with corporate guidelines and Chilean regulations.
• Manage, together with the Construction area, the execution of the approved projects, being also responsible for hiring consultants, suppliers, partners, as well as ensuring that all contracts are in compliance with the company's standards and current legislation.

Your Profile

• Engineering or business Professional, preferable with master’s degree or MBA.
• 12+ years of experience in the energy industry and 10 years in business development positions.
• More than 5 years leading business development teams in renewables within energy multinational companies.
• Advanced English (mandatory).
• Strong project Management skills.
• Procurement of large equipment and tender processes.
• High knowleadge of Chilean electricity market and its regulations.
• Experience with project environmental licensing in Chile.
• Experience with project financing.
• Experience in Project constructions.
