That's “IT” – hope to hear from you!

Your Role:

The role will be a part of The Program Management office (PMO). As an advisor, you will act as a key sparring partner to the Head of PMO contributing directly to the strategic direction of KONGSBERG IT’s project landscape. You will lead initiatives related to methodology development, project portfolio analysis, prioritization, and decision support — enabling our leadership to make data-driven, value-focused investment decisions.

In addition, you will play a central role in further developing the PMO function, ensuring it continues to evolve in line with business needs and best practices.
This is a cross-functional role that combines strategic thinking, governance expertise, and consulting skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Strategy & Prioritization
• Conduct portfolio analyses to evaluate risk, resource use, and business impact.
• Recommend prioritized initiatives based on strategic alignment, cost, and benefit.
• Lead the development and execution of portfolio governance and review processes.
• Provide regular reporting on portfolio health, risks, and performance metrics.

Project Governance & Methodology

• Responsible for risk management.
• Support continuous improvement of the project methodology and governance models.
• Facilitate workshops and interviews to gather insights from stakeholders across the organization to further develop the PMO function.
• Capture lessons learned and integrate them into future practices and project models.
• Propose and implement changes to ensure scalable and effective governance structures.

Advisory & Leadership Support

• Act as a strategic advisor to the PMO Manager, and step in when operational support is needed.
• Contribute to resource planning and prioritization at a portfolio level.
• Provide insight-based recommendations to executive stakeholders on project decisions.

What we are looking for:

• Documented experience in project, program, and portfolio management.
• Proven experience with project governance, strategic analysis, and change initiatives.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (Project Management, Business, IT).
• Deep understanding of project portfolio management principles and tools.

Preferred certifications:

• PRINCE2
• Management of Portfolios - MoP
• Managing Successful Programs - MSP
• Change Management certification or relevant experience

Key Skills:

• Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset
• Strong communication and facilitation skills across all organizational levels
• Ability to advise, challenge, and support executive leadership
• Experience with Azure DevOps
• Experience with tools such as Power BI, Excel, or similar for portfolio analysis

What we offer:

• A senior strategic role in a globally recognized technology company.
• The opportunity to influence how projects are prioritized, governed, and delivered.
• A collaborative and knowledgeable team environment with room for innovation.
• Hybrid working model with flexibility to support a healthy work-life balance.
