Statkraft’s International Trainee Programme is a great introduction into working life. You will spend 16 months learning and developing yourself alongside other graduates, and kick start your career in renewables. The programme consists of three job rotations across the company, of which at least one will be abroad. As a trainee, you will participate in various professional development courses and gatherings to acquire new skills and share experiences. You will also become a part of our brand-new CEO-led Future Board – an advisory board made up of trainees and young professionals at Statkraft who will advise and challenge our CEO on key issues and topics. For the first time ever, young professionals get a seat at the table, and will help shape our future here at Statkraft.  

We have two trainee positions available across this area. Please specify on your application if you have a preference for a particular focus area. 

Trainee in Trading & Origination 
Location: Oslo 

At Statkraft, our Trading teams engage in standardised and customised contracts for power, gas and oil, and our Origination teams help supply customers with a broad range of tailor-made solutions and services for utilities and industrial purposes. Both are completely dedicated to driving the world’s clean energy transition while positively contributing to Statkraft’s bottom line. The business activities and customer solutions Trading & Origination provide are crucial for Statkraft as most of the company’s energy exposure is linked to the Nordic markets. Moreover, Statkraft’s business strategy implies a considerable growth of the customer business and Nordic Origination is expected to contribute by increased sales and new business ideas.  

The Nordic Origination department has more than 30 employees located in Oslo, Trondheim and Stockholm, and is responsible for a customer portfolio of more than 60 TWh in yearly sales and structured trading activities, and we are now looking for a trainee to join our team. 

Trainee in Origination, Southern Europe 
Location: Paris, Milan, or Düsseldorf 

In Southern European Origination, we are passionate about power markets and renewable energy, and our ambition is to be best-in-class in quantifying, managing, and trading associated risks. Our geographical focus is Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy.  

Southern European Origination consists of regional Origination teams located in Madrid, Milan and Paris and a central Portfolio Management team located at our Continental European hub in Düsseldorf. While the Origination teams focus on originating, structuring and negotiating value enhancing new transactions, the Portfolio Management provides the analysis, structuring and pricing platform to all non-standard commodity contracts and manages the entire energy portfolio in the market across the forward curve until energy delivery.
