You will become part of the team responsible for HiPOS, our new software platform for operating and monitoring hydroacoustic positioning and communication systems. HiPOS supports demanding maritime operations by presenting positioning information and enabling interaction with hydroacoustic, inertial navigation and associated vessel systems.

Our solutions are used worldwide in demanding maritime operations within research, offshore energy, and other specialized applications.

In this role

You will contribute to the continued development of the HiPOS platform, primarily back-end software, system interfaces, operational user interfaces, and new functionality. You will work closely with experienced software developers, system engineers, testers, and product management in a multidisciplinary R&D environment. You will also: 

  • Build and improve end-to-end product features across frontend and backend
  • Develop scalable backend services, APIs, integrations and data flows
  • Contribute to software architecture, system design, security, release and technical specifications
  • Troubleshoot and improve software performance, reliability, and usability
  • Collaborate with colleagues across different technical disciplines
  • Participate in product testing in our laboratories and aboard our research vessels in Horten
  • Work closely with Product, UX, Platform, Data and DevOps colleagues to turn user and business needs into working software

Required qualifications and experience

  • BSc or MSc in computer science, cybernetics, software engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with application development using technologies such as C++, C#
  • Real-time programming, real time operating systems
  • Experience with DevOps tools and development pipelines
  • Experience with software development principles, testing, and version control
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken

Preferred qualifications and experience

  • Experience with software architecture, remote operation, networking, or cloud infrastructure is an advantage
  • Relevant professional experience is preferred, but recent graduates with a strong technical background will also be considered

Work location

Horten. Lysaker may be considered as a work location, but it will be required to be at our Horten site when needed.
